QUETTA: Sanaullah Zehri has on Tuesday resigned from his position as Cheif Minister of Balochistan. The resignation has been accepted by Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai
Earlier, mystery shrouded Sanaullah Zehri’s position as Chief Minister of Balochistan as contradictory reports emerged regarding his resignation.
While the media reports claimed that he had resigned in a meeting with the provincial governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai, his spokesperson Jan Achakzai said that he had decided not to resign.
He said that Balochistan CM would face the no-confidence motion against him. “We have the numerical strength in the house and we’ll prove it”, he said.
Federal government sources had also claimed that Zehri had not resigned as yet.
It is pertinent to mention here though that the media reports had claimed that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had advised him to resign from his position.
On the other hand, former Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti celebrated the resignation through a tweet. He was one of the ministers who had resigned in a bid to dislodge Sanaullah Zehri from his post.
