LAHORE: Party switching is not something new in the political arena of Pakistan, especially ahead of general election, but when some staunch supporters of a political party switch their affiliation, it raise many eyebrows. The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) suffered a set-back on Wednesday when its key supporters belonging to PP-155 and PP-159 constituencies called on Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) senior central leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here at his residence, and announced their support to PML-Q in the upcoming general election in 2018. Those announced their support to the PML-Q include Talha Usman Sidhu, Mohammad Akbar Mayo, Habibullah Shaheen, Ghulam Hussain Sidhu, Ch Akbar Ali, Ch Umar Sidhu, Ch Zubair Sidhu, Ch Arshad Sidhu, Rana Shaukat, Zakaullah Dhillon, Mahmud Masih, Muslim Bajwa, Waheed Alam, Muqaddas Randhawa, Rafey Randhawa, Ch Omar Khayyam Sidhu, Ch Mohammad Iqbal, Muhammad Rehan, Rana Shahjehan and others. Speaking on the occasion, Elahi said that the incumbent rulers had been exposed that was why people were joining the PML-Q. He welcomed the newcomers in the party and asked them to play their role to make the party strong and active.
