RAIWIND: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday met Finance Advisor Miftah Ismail and directed him to complete the sales tax refunds to the exporters by February 15, Daily Times reported.
In a meeting at the ruling party Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif’s residence, the former premier told Miftah to take measures bringing the individual income taxes down and not more than 15%.
Nawaz also instructed him to introduce reforms under which no income tax should be deducted from salary below Rs 100,000 per month.
He also directed lowering the gas tariff for the industries in order to create a favourable environment for the Pakistani industrialists to compete in the regional market.
