LAHORE: Punjab Cheif Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing an Ulma convention in Lahore on  Sunday, said that the recent statement of US President Donald Trump, accusing Pakistan of “lying and deceiving, was “regrettable”.

On January 1, US President Donald Trump accused Pakistan once again of providing safe havens to terrorists from Afghanistan.

Pakistan has given uncountable sacrifices in war against terror, Sharif said.

Addressing the convention, he also stressed on the need of religious harmony and urged the religious scholars to play their role in this regard.

He further said that sit-ins did not let the country progress.

Commenting on the issue of the finality of the prophethood, Sharif said no one could call himself a Mulsim “without having firm belief in Khatm-e-Nubuwwat”.
