Clerics endorse Pakistan’s role in Saudi-led military alliance

ISLAMABAD: Participants of ‘Second World Message of Islam Conference’ on Wednesday welcomed the decision of the government of Pakistan to become part of Saudi-led 41-nation Islamic Military Alliance and resolved that people of Pakistan were ready to lay any sacrifice for the defense and security of Harmain Al Sharifain.

The participants of the conference held at the Convention Centre under the aegis of Pakistan Ulema Council also demanded of the UN and other world organizations to end dual standards and make an end to prevailing atrocities in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Palestine and Kashmir.

The conference demanded of Iranian leadership to resolve controversies with the Arab World amicably and condemned usage of chemical weapons by Asad regime in Syria on innocent people and children of Syria.

The participants took oath to any sacrifice for defense and security of Harmain Al Sharifain.

More than 5000 ulema and religious scholars from all over Pakistan attended the conference held in two sittings. The first session was headed by Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council, while Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Kashmir, presided over the second sitting. Among other key speakers of the conference includes Sheikh Al-Talal, Religious Minister of Saudi Arabia Al-Sheikh Rashid Al-Zahrani, representative of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, Ashfaq, representatives of Lebanon Ibrahim, representative of Egypt and other notable religious scholars from Pakistan including Dr Saeed Inayatullah, JUI(F) leader Hafiz Hussein Ahmed, Maulana Ilyas Ghumman, Peer Aziz ur Rehman Hazarvi, Pir Abdul Rauf Makki and other renowned Ulemas from different religious organizations attended the conference.

Speaking at the conference Sardar Masood Khan, President Azad Kashmir stated that the UN and Western countries are making dual standards that’s why issues of Kashmir and Palestine are not being resolved since decades.

Al-Sheikh Talal speaking on this occasion said that people of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are knotted with each other in relations of faith and brotherhood, and Saudi Arabia will play its key role for development of Pakistan.

JUI (F) leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed lauding endeavors of Pakistan Ulema Council for conveying Message of Islam Conference said that OIC should play proactive role to resolve confronting challenges of Muslim world.

Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer of Jamiat-e-Ahle-Hadith addressing at the conference said that Pakistan was established for the cause of Pakistan and people of Pakistan will not deviate from defense and security of Harmain-e-Al Sharifain.

Meanwhile office bearers of Pakistan Ulema Council said that Message of Islam Conference hinted at the fact Islam is a religion of peace and harmony and some western countries are baselessly making propaganda to associate terrorism and extremism with Islam and Muslims.

A joint declaration comprising nine points was also approved at the conference:

* Conference condemns all forms of terrorism, extremism and sectarian violence and ratified that elements accomplice in terrorism and extremism have no linkage either with Islam and Muslims.

* Welcomes decision on part of government of Pakistan to joint ‘Islamic Military Alliance” and appointment of General Raheel Sharif as head of this military alliance is tantamount of Islamic World’s trust on Pakistan.

* Terms defense and security of Harmain-e-Al-Sharifain as part of faith and will not allow any elements to play havoc with peace and sanctity of Harmain-Al-Sharifain.* Condemns prevailing atrocities on Muslims of Iraq, Syira, Palestine, Yemen and Kashmir and demanded of UNO and OIC to make an end to these atrocities and ensure right of freedom for people of Kashmir and Palestine. To prevail peace in Syria, world leadership should make an end to Bashar-ul-Asad regime. It also condemns use of chemical weapons by Asad Regime on innocent people of Syria.

* Supports and endorsed operation Raddul-Fassad for annihilation of terrorism and extremism.

* Condemns blasphemous content on social media websites and demanded of the leadership of Muslim countries to devise a cohesive mechanism to flush out sacrilegious content from social media websites.

* Condemns foreign interference in affairs of Muslim countries.

* Demands of Iranian leadership to stay away from getting into controversies with Arab countries.

* Appreciates endeavors on part of Saudi government for pilgrims.
