Cop killed over matrimonial issue near Larkana

LARKANA: A cop was gunned down by an ASI in village Butra near Larkana on Thursday morning.

Constable Sadaruddin Junejo was on government duty for local body by-election in UC Karani when he was shot and injured by ASI Khan Junejo, a resident of village Waidad Gabar, inside the polling station. He was rushed to Chandka Medical College Hospital Larkana but expired before getting any treatment.

The incident took place in the limits of Fatehpur police station. SHO Noor Ahmed Mugheri told reporters that both the parties had dispute over a matrimonial issue as a couple had fled after free will marriage.

Sources said that ASI Khan Junejo had tendered his resignation from the job as he wanted to take revenge. The victim was posted at PS Lashari and was directed to perform election duty in Dokri taluka.

Police have started a probe into the matter after arresting the accused. No case could be registered till filing this report. SSP Kambar Sajid reached the spot and looked into the matter.
