One dead, five injured in clash between university students in Mardan

MARDAN: A student died while five others were injured on Thursday as a result of a clash between students at Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan.

According to media reports, the clash took place around afternoon, and involved firing and vandalism.

The deceased student has been identified as Mashaal, who was enrolled at the university’s Mass Communication department. The dead body of the student was shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.

No case has been registered yet.

Following the incident, the university’s Garden Campus has been shut down for an indefinite time period.
