Raza Rabbani to carry on as Senate Chairman: Dar

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar has said that Raza Rabbani has withdrawn his decision to stop work as Senate Chairman.

Talking to the media after holding a meeting with the Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani at his residence, Ishaq Dar said that grievances of Raza Rabbani will be addressed.

Dar said that Rabbani will chair Senate’s session on Monday. He said that a notification regarding the Senate session will be issued again and the session will be held on Monday. He said that Raza Rabbani will chair the session. The minister said that Raza Rabbai had adjourned the Senate session, but fresh notifications will be issued regarding the session.

Dar said that Rabbani is still Senate’s chairman and will continue to work on the position. On the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he met with Raza Rabbani. Dar added that he has assured Rabbani to address his grievances.

He said complaints regarding the replies of Senate will be addressed.

Dar said that the Senate chairman has made contacts with all the parliamentary leaders. Dar said he is thankful to Raza Rabbani for cooperating and withdrawing his decision, adding that the presence of ministers will be ensured in National Assembly and Senate.
