Crowns of Blood

Author: Ammara Gul Mustafa

Pharaohs, emperors, and all kings,

played their roles, still the world sings.

Their voices were not lost nor buried

Time revolves around them, unhurried.

Men draped in gold, in whose veins blood is bitter,

Palaces drenched in blood, still shine and glitter.

They sit arrogantly upon their high thrones,

until, one day a mighty warrior arrives to undo their wrongs.

The deaths, slaughter of innocents remains untold,

an unpainted blank canvas awaits to unfold.

While Satan sits watching it all, gaily sneers,

at the Pharaohs who obliged his vicious airs.

The warrior amended the past with his sharp sword,

singing a silent prayer of hymns, glorifying the Lord.

AMEN
