KARACHI: Beneficiaries of Gang-War hushed up Millions, which was sucked from the Blood of Citizens and extorted from Businessmen, yet no action has been taken against the Officials of Sindh Police despite the Clear Revelations from Uzair Baloch Leader of LGW during the past one year.

“There is a Question Mark on strives of law Implementation because things are Crystal Clear but the government is still hesitating to take any action against those who were involved in supporting Gang-war in return getting huge bribes and benefits include some Politicians and Police Officials” a former Liyari Police Official told Daily Times.

It is permanent to mention that Uzair Baloch who has recently revealed alarming facts in a statement before the South judicial Magistrate in April 2016 under Section 164 of the CrPC [Criminal Procedure Code] in a 13-page, self-written confessional Document.

“I was in close contact with police officers including Wasim Ahmed [the then Karachi police chief and now retired from service], SSP Farooq Awan [still serving in the Sindh police] and his brother Shahadat Awan, prosecutor general of the Sindh government . Uzair performed several jobs for them including illegally occupying land,” stated the document.

According to the source it is not the first time that these names have come out in the lime light , also in may 2016 a joint investigation (JIT) of the leader of Liyari Gang war, Uzair Baloch had revealed few facts about Sindh police, according to which in 2009, former CCPO Waseem Ahmed summoned Uzair Baloch at SSP Farooq Awan’s residence and directed him to get rid of Ghafar Zikri of Arshad Pappu Group because his criminal activities including murders, extortions, and kidnapping which were on a rise.

To accomplish the task Uzair baloch managed to appoint his desired SHOs in the police station of liyari including Inspector Imtiaz Niazi, Babar Hameed, Sana Ullah, Malik Ayub, Abid Tanoli, Javed Baloch and Chand Khan Niazi.

However, despite of these confessions, no actions has been taken against former CCPO Waseem Ahmed and SP Farooq Awan and both officers have been bestowed with important postings. Waseem Ahmed after serving as Karachi police chief was promoted as the IG Sindh police in PPP government. After his tenure on this posting he was further promoted as DG FIA, and at last further prolonging his golden posting he was appointed as Additional chief secretary Home Department sindh in 2012.

On the other hand SSP Farooq Awan , from 2008 to 2015 enjoyed lucrative positioning in Special Investigation Unit SIU and Anti-violent Crime Cell along with Anti-car lifting cell during PPP’s government and his influence in the markets and areas of the old city was effective and visible in the areas where activities of LGW were vigorous. Farooq used to negotiate between the traders and the Aman committee compelling people to save their lives by accepting the demands of Uzair group. Sindh police had formed its first anti extortion cell under the command of Farooq Awan which in fact was facilitating Gang War.

The same is the case with Nusrat Mangan, after serving as Jail superintendent he is now serving as IG Prisons for a few years without any break.

In the recent statement before the magistrate Uzair confessed that It all began in 2008 with his close contacts with Nusrat Mangan who is now serving as IG prison for past many years . During his jail term and Faisal Raza Abidi the former senator of the Pakistan People’s Party and Mangan managed to bring him in PPPP got him appointed as in charge of the imprisoned PPP workers. After the killing of A Rahman Dakait in 2009 in a police encounter Uzair baloch was put in command to set up a strong armed gang in the name of People’s Amn Committee by Faisal and Zulfiqar Mirza .

The Gangster used his strong group to serve the high-ranking police officers and members of parliament on a reciprocity basis and they provided him all the protection required in return.

According to the statement he used to collect Rs 150, 000 every month for SSP Farooq Awan , and while according to the JIT revelation Waseem Beater used to collect 2 lacs monthly for Raja Umar Khitab . Waseem a policeman fled the country afterwards due to his name coming up in a court of law. Waseem was in full coordination with Uzair since he used to run the biggest gambling Den in Ghass Mandi.
