116 drivers show their mettle in Jamrud jeep rally

KHYBER AGENCY: As many as 116 racers from across the country took part in the 2nd Political Agent jeep rally organized on Sunday in Jamrud tehsil as part of Khyber Agency Sports and Culture fair.

Beside Political Agent, Khyber Khalid Mehmood as chief guest, MNA Shahjee Gul, administration officials, tribal elders and laymen from all over the Khyber made ensure their presence in the event. In this connection a special race track had been made for racers in Tedi Bazaar area of Jamrud tehsil on that the participants exhibited their talent that amused the audience. Nasir Khan clinched first position while Fawad Akhtar remained runner up in the race. At the end the chief guest awarded winning trophy to the winner while one motorbike each of first three position holders as prize. Speaking on the occasion PA Khalid Mehmood said that initiating such kind of events to bring smile on the faces of tribesmen who had beard a lot in last one decade.

It was an attempt to get engaged the tribesmen in extra-curriculum activities so that to divert their attention towards healthy programs. Successful arrangement of the Jeep rally will present soft image of the area, he added and saying keeping in view their affiliation with sports activities the administration would strive hard to set up more sports and culture events in the area. It is to be mentioned here that the Khyber Agency administration had initiated three days long Sports and Culture show at sport complex, Jamrud and jeep rally was part of it beside games of Cricket, Football, and Volleyball and initiated poetry reciting session.
