Nine-year-old girl raped

SHIKARPUR: A nine-year-old-girl, a daughter of a blind man, was raped by a teenager at village Muhammad Murad Khalifa near Sultankot Town in the limits of Sultankot Police Station, said police.

According to SHO Sultankot Police Station, Ameer Ali Pathan that a nine-years-old girl identified as *R* daughter of Jagan Lodro was allegedly raped by accused identified as Ubedullah, aged around 17, resident of same village, when she was coming from her elder sister’s home to her house and then accused took to her forcibly to his resident and managed to escape from place of incident after committing crime, SHO added.

Besides, area police have arrested involved accused Ubedullah and recovered one TT Pistol from his possession, SHO informed.

In addition, SHO confirmed that positive report has been received and an FIR [11/12/2017] has been registered against accused on the complaint of Zareena, the mother of affected girl, at Sultankot Police Station, SHO concluded.

Talking to journalists Zareena said that her husband is blind and too weak in this regard accused was issuing dire consequences to withdraw the case otherwise she would bear consequences, she added.

She further demanded of the higher authorities including Human Rights Organizations, IGP Sindh, DIG Larkana and SSP Shikarpur to take notice of the consequences and play their role to provide justice.

Waheed Ahmed Agha, Focal Persons Child Protection Unit Shikarpur, told this scribe that CPU would provide legal aid to affected family.

Iqbal Detho, Human Rights Activist, Zahid Bhanbhro, other notables and city organisations strongly condemned such incident.

Further investigation is into the matter till this story was filed.
