ISLAMABAD: A two-day national business plan competition organized by the Business Incubation Centre of the National University of Modern Languages kicked off on Tuesday. Prof Dr Arshad Ali, executive director, Higher Education Commission, was the chief guest at the inaugural session. NUML Rector Major General (r) Zia Uddin Najam, Direct General Muhammad Ibrahim, registrar, deans, directors, jury members from public and private sectors and students from various universities across the country participated in the competition. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Arshad said that NUML must be appreciated for its vision and positive steps for the promotion of business to generate employment opportunities rather than finding jobs. He said that HEC in collaboration with different ministries was working on different projects and universities were welcome to participate in such programmes. He said that the Ministry of Environment and the HEC were working on a project to avoid smog and that NUML students were welcome if they had any plan or project to tackle this issue. He said that HEC will cooperate with the universities to maximum level on any workable project. He appreciated NUML and hoped that other varsities will also follow its footprints. NUML Rector Zia Uddin Najam in his address stressed on the moral values in business and urged the students that they should remain honest in their businesses.
