LAHORE: Two women were killed by a drunk policeman in Sukkur when he set them ablaze over a family issue.
The women who were identified as Nausheen Bhutto and Arbeli Rajpar were set ablaze by Nausheen’s brother Mehboob Bhutto, who is a policeman. Her sister had invited some guests whom he did not like at his nephew’s wedding and he, in a fit of rage, sprinkled the two women with petrol and set them on fire on December 21.
According to the police, the victims were taken to Civil Hospital Karachi where they succumbed to their injuries.
In wake of the incident and the deaths that occurred on Tuesday, the police arrested Mehboob and registered a case against him. Further investigation over the crime were underway.
