CTD arrest alleged extortionist

PESHAWAR: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has apprehended an alleged extortionist, an Afghan national, in Peshawar.

According to the CTD, the arrested Afghan National, Najeeb Ullah, is accused of extorting money from the people in the name of proscribed outfit.

The suspect was wanted by the law enforcement agencies for detonating explosives outside the house of a businessman in Achini Bala area of the city after the latter refused to pay extortion money.

The police have registered a case against the suspect and started investigation.
