ISLAMABAD: In solidarity with an ongoing shutter down strike against imposition of taxes in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), the students of the region residing in major cities across the city held protest demonstrations in front of respective press clubs.

In Islamabad, a demonstration was held in front of the National Press Club. Dozens of students gathered there holding placards and banners with statements against tax imposition. Protesting students also chanted slogans against the federal and provincial governments. They were also joined by representatives of various opposition parties. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf GB women wing president and former member of the GB Legislative Assembly, Amina Ansari, joined the protest and addressed the students.
