LAHORE: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has launched a mass contact campaign in accordance with its annual action plan.
A high-level meeting to review the preparations in this regard will be held at Mansoora on April 19, with JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch in the chair. JI Deputy Chief Rashid Naseem, Deputy Secretary General Azhar Iqbal Hasan, Information Secretary Amirul Azeem will also attend the meeting. The meeting will chalk out plans to mobilise the masses through mass contact in all parts of the country to support the JI in the next elections.
Meanwhile, JI chief Sirajul Haq has congratulated the Turkish president on his victory in the historic referendum.
The JI chief visited the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad on Monday and greeted Turkish Envoy Sadiq Babur Girgin, on the ‘Yes’ vote in the constitutional amendment allowing sweeping powers to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. JI deputy chief Mian Muhammad Aslam and Abdul Ghaffar Aziz were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, the JI chief said that the majority vote in the referendum would further strengthen the democratic values in Turkey. He said that the Turkish people had voted for excellent performance of Erdogan and against corruption. He greeted President Erdogan and the entire Turkish nation on the successful referendum.
Siraj expressed the hope that the bilateral relations between the Pakistan and Turkey would grow strong. He pointed out that President Erdogan had supported Pakistan in every difficult hour and on all issues, including Kashmir.
He said that President Erdogan’s opponents could not digest achievements of the Turkish government and wanted to whip up false allegations against Erdogan to hide his success.
