The Sindh High Court has directed the authorities concerned to file comments on two separate petitions of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s leaders seeking removal of restrictions on their travelling abroad.
PPP leaders Dr Asim Hussain and Sharjeel Memon had petitioned the high court for removal of their names from the ECL.
Two benches heard their petitions and sought comments from the official respondents.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Junaid Ghaffar adjourned the hearing of the petition of Dr Asim until April 25.
He was released on April 1 after about 19 months when the SHC granted him bail in two corruption references.
Meanwhile, another bench has directed the Federal Investigation Agency and other official respondents to file their response to Memon’s petition.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Shafi Siddiqui also extended his interim pre-arrest bail in two corruption references until May 2.
