CPNE flays attack on Geo news reporting team at Sukkur Press Club

KARACHI: The Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE) has condemned the attack by protestors on Geo news reporting team including reporter Nasir Jafferi in front of Sukkur Press Club.

CPNE wile expressing its concerns over the injuries sustained by Nasir in the incident has termed this act like attack on the journalist society. Zia Shahid President, Shaheen Qureshi senior vice President Ejazul Haq, Secretary General of CPNE and executive members have termed that the Media is being punished for upholding the expression to write and safeguard the right of expression.

They demanded of the government to immediately arrest the culprits involved in the incident to bring them into the justice fold and ensure the security of the journalists and media houses.
