KARACHI: Protesting outside Karachi Press Club on Monday, the Vice president of Paksar Zameen Party, Aftakhar Randhawa has said that they will continue their protest until their demands are met.
He said that some of the government representatives including Sayed Nasir Ali Shah, Mukesh Khahala and Mumtaz Jakhrani have met them and have accepted at least 12 points out of the 16-points of their demand list. “The leaders make tall-claims but do nothing”, he said adding that they must take initiatives
“Our protest is for the poor people of the city who are suffering the most”, said Randhawa adding that if the government is indifferent towards the basic and essential issues then they are also clear in their ideas and vision.” It is not a piece of cake to get approved the demands by the government, but we are ready to bear pain for the prosperity and peace of the coming generation”.
“The ruling parties enjoy powers ignoring the basic issues of the people”, he alleged saying that the Sindh government is looting people and is busy in carrying out corrupt activities.
“People from all walks of life should came and join us, showing their sympathies offering every kind of favour, even the transports leaders have offered us to kick off the transportation and communication strike but we prohibited them”. “We want to resolve our issues peacefully without any harm”, he added.
PSP workers demanded that the provincial government to fulfil the basic needs, including the provision of water, electricity, and a proper sewage system.
