LAHORE: A retired female professor of Punjab University (PU) has been stabbed to death by some unidentified persons in PU housing colony.
According to media reports, some unidentified persons killed with a sharp weapon a retired female professor of PU, identified as Tahira, 60, who was residing in PU housing colony. The assailants fled the scene after committing the heinous crime.
The police reached the scene and shifted the body into a nearby local hospital for medico-legal formalities.
According to police, the victim resided alone in her home. On Tuesday, when her house maid came, no one opened the door. She broke off the door and upon entering the house found the tortured body of retired professor who was lying in a pool of blood. The maid then informed the police.
PU forensics team also reached the place of incident for conducting investigation and evidence is currently being collected in this regard. Efforts have been made to identify the suspects with the help of CCTV footage, police said.
The victim has torture marks on her body too.
