LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday heard the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Andaleeb Abbas against the protocol given to former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Daily Times reported.
Hearing the case, Justice Shahid Karim expressed displeasure over the failure of Punjab and federal governments to submit the answer today and ordered both to respond to the queries on next hearing under any condition.
The petitioner maintained that Nawaz Sharif was being given the protocol despite being disqualified by Supreme Court in July 28. The petition added that a disqualified person had been using Punjab House and was being given protocol by 40 cars, wasting the public money.
It further stated that Rs 2.18 million had been spent on the protocol of Nawaz Sharif and his daughter during interviews with Joint Investigation Team (JIT). Demanding the annulment of Nawaz’s protocol, the petition also insisted that his meetings at Punjab House should be banned.
