Manchar Lake

Author: Daily Times

Sir: It is disheartening to see that Manchar lake, that is considered to be one of the beautiful lakes in Karachi, is now polluted owing to flowing of water. This is posing an acute harm to the lives of atmosphere and hygiene of people.

Broadly, according to data, 2,600 species of plants animals and fish used to get their food in this lake but today all species have lost their lives as water of this lake is completely contaminated. Multiple birds have died.

Besides, people around this lake are in a miserable condition due to the negligence of the provincial government as it is not providing clean water to protect the citizen which can cause such devastative diseases like polio virus and amoeba virus if serious measures are not implemented for its development.
