RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Central Police Officer (CPO) Israr Abassi on Tuesday directed the area SHOs to set-up ‘Public-Police Committees’ to control street crimes and speed-up the process of investigation. The decision was taken to curb rising crimes.
According to a notification issued by CPO, the committees would be led by SHOs of relevant police stations, who would be finalise the committees within seven days. The CPO also expressed dissatisfaction over measures taken so far by police to control crime.
The committee will comprise both police and public representatives.
