MCI councilors protest against ‘meager’ salaries

ISLAMABAD: Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad (MCI) councilors on Tuesday staged a protest outside the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman’s office against their monthly salaries.

The CDA chairman had earlier set up a committee for giving recommendations about the salaries of elected metropolitan candidates. The committee recommended fixing councilors’ salaries at Rs 20,000 each.

However, the councilors have rejected the decision. The protest against the CDA chairman and demanded the salaries be revised.
