Student commits suicide

RAWALPINDI: A ninth grade student committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills on Tuesday. The incident occurred in Naseerabad police precincts. Shehryar, a resident of Attock, had come to meet his relatives who lived in Rawalpindi. He allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills there. Police took the body to nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed it over to his relatives.

Man shot dead: A young man was shot dead on Tuesday during a marriage ceremony. Taxila Police said that a police volunteer allegedly shot and killed the young man when the two exchanged harsh words in a marriage ceremony.

“Kashif, a resident of HMC Road, and Tassawar Qureshi, a resident of Muhallah Warrian, exchanged harsh words when the latter insisted on playing a particular song during the wedding ceremony being held in Christian Colony. Kashif, who was drunk at that time, pulled out his handgun and shot Qureshi, who died on the spot. Kashif fled from the spot,” police said. A case has been registered.

Women abducted: Four people were allegedly abducted from various areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Tuesday.

Syed Mumtaz Ali, a resident of Race Course, lodged a complaint with local police that unidentified kidnappers had abducted his wife and three-year-old daughter from his house. He suspected that Mustakeen Shah, Zakir Shah, and Hameeda Bibi could be behind the kidnapping. Police have registered a case.

In the second incident, Tayabur Rehman, a resident of Wah Cantonment, lodged a complaint with the local police, stating that unidentified kidnappers had abducted his wife from the local market. He suspected that Waqas Gulzar was behind the kidnapping.

Zareen Khan, a resident of Kotli Sattain, lodged a complaint with police that kidnappers had abducted his wife. He suspected that Nasir, Mudassar, Gayas Bibi Muhammad Yunus, and Raeesa Bibi could be behind the kidnapping. Police have registered a case.

Motorcyclist killed in traffic accident: A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run incident within the Industrial Area Police precincts on Tuesday. Abdul Gafoor was riding his motorcycle (RIC-4304) when he was crushed to death by a speeding truck (DMR-1347) near Faizabad, I-9 Islamabad. The body was taken to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities. The truck driver fled. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
