ISLAMABAD: The Education Department Punjab has directed the authorities to complete the construction of bathrooms in 700 government schools located in Rawalpindi till 30th June.
According to sources, Education Department Punjab has allocated Rs0.1 million for the construction of one bathroom.
According to sources, around 1230 primary, 316 middle, and 365 high and 34 higher secondary schools are located in Rawalpindi, while among them 700 schools are lacking the facility of bathrooms.
Moreover, in some of the schools where bathrooms are set-up, they don’t have the proper system of water and sanitation.
According to orders of Education Department Punjab, two bathrooms would be constructed for 100 students, while 4 bathrooms would be constructed for 101-250 students.
Moreover, six bathrooms would be constructed for 250-500 students, while eight bathrooms would be constructed for 500-1000 students.
