Youngster guns down three of his friends for ‘honour’

RAWALPINDI: In yet another bizarre incident of honour killing, a young boy murdered three of his friends on Wednesday after suspecting that one of them was in a relationship with his sister.

According to police, the homicide took place in the Gujar Khan police precinct, when a youngster identified as Shahbaz started firing at his three friends – Badar Ali, Abdul Rahman and Mohammad Umar.

Police said that Umar had allegedly started seeing Shahbaz’s sister, which angered the accused.

SHO Sheikh Mohammad Qasim said that Shahbaz had told Umar to stop contacting his sister, but Umar allegedly refused. This prompted the enraged accused to killed Umar along with two of their mutual friends, he said. He said that the deceased were aged between 19 and 20 years. The police have arrested Shahbaz and started investigation.

Meanwhile, a 52-year-old man was allegedly murdered within the Kallar Syedan police precinct.

Hassan Akhtar, the victim’s brother, lodged a complaint with the police that the deceased Jehangir Akhtar was working as a driver for Sardar Hanif. He said that Jehangir went to Doberan Kallan market regarding his job, but after an hour his nephew informed him that the victim’s body had been found from Nimble Road near Neelum Tower Project. He said that the deceased’s face bore torture marks.

He further said that the family had no enmity with anyone, but initial investigation revealed that Jehangir was allegedly murdered by another local namely Zeeshan and his accomplices. Zeeshan had suspected that Jehangir was involved in his mother’s divorce. The Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
