PSF to host two major squash events in federal capital

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) is all set to host the Pakistan Open Men’s Squash Championship and Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Women’s International Championship at Mushaf Squash Complex here. The tournaments will take place between December 17 and 23. According to a spokesman for the PSF on Saturday, 48 international squash players from various countries along with Pakistan squash players will participate in both the events. Marwan El Shorbagy from Egypt is the top seed in the men’s title, while Annie Au from Hong Kong has been seeded first in the CAS Women’s International Championship. The qualifying round will start form December 17, and the main round will commence from December 19. The semifinals and finals of both the championships will be played between December 21 and 23, respectively.

The Pakistan Open Squash Championship, which carries a prize of $50,000, is returning to the squash circuit after a lapse of ten years. The prize money for the CAS Women’s International Championship is $25,000.
