ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of the torture of Norwegian national women at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) Islamabad.
The notice was taken on a news item published in a section of the media highlighting that two expatriate ladies were beaten by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) staff over a petty issue.
Later on, the female staff, with the help of two other officials, dragged one of the women to a room where they allegedly tortured her, while her mother was beaten publicly.
The CJP has called a report from the interior and aviation secretaries within three days.
Meanwhile, FIA Director General Muhammad Amlish has suspended FIA staff member Gazalla Shaheen for allegedly subjecting the women passengers to torture.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan took notice of the video of the incident and directed the FIA DG to probe the incident. The DG suspended the female official and directed her to report to the zonal office.
