Young girl commits suicide

RAWALPINDI: A young girl has allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills on failure in marriage of choice within the jurisdiction of Cantt police.

According to media reports, the victim, identified as Ghazal Naz, 19 was employed in Islamabad and was residing in her uncle’s home in Coal Centre Saddar. Her parents lived in Chakra.

Parents of a boy named Basit came up with marriage proposal for Ghazal Naz. In the meantime, exchange of harsh words took place between the parents of Basit and family members of girl Ghazal Naz.

The marriage proposal came under discussion the next morning again among the family members of Ghazal Naz. During this time she committed suicide by consuming poisonous pills. She was shifted to district head quarters hospital Rawalpindi but she could not survive.

Police have handed over the body to her relatives after medico-legal formalities and also registered a case of suicide.
