Eight alleged Jamaat-ur-Ahrar terrorists killed in Sheikhupura operation

SHEIKHUPURA: The Counter-Terrorism Department personnel claimed to have foiled a major terror bid planned for Lahore and gunned down eight alleged proscribed Jamaat-ur-Ahrar terrorists during an operation in Sheikhupura.

On a tip-off, the CTD personnel raided a hideout in Sheikhupura area on Thursday, where the terrorists started firing at the police party, leaving two police personnel injured.

The CTD retaliated and shot dead eight terrorists of proscribed Jamaat-ur-Ahrar. Moreover, four terrorists fled the scene.

According to CTD, the terrorists wanted to carry out a terrorist act in Lahore. The personnel also recovered three kilogrammes of explosive, three Kalashnikovs and five pistols during the search operation.

The CTD have also conducted a search operation for the arrest of remaining terrorists.
