The 3rd Anniversary of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar massacre is being observed today.

A special function is being arranged at Army Public School Peshawar to mark the day.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has paid tribute in his message to the nation on the anniversary of the tragedy of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar.

The prime minister said the day would be remembered as black day in country’s history when barbaric elements had targeted the innocent children of the APS.

He said the valiant security forces of Pakistan defeated the terrorists under the National Action Plan and broke their back consequent to their tireless efforts. The blood of the innocent people has come to fruition making the Pakistani nation the only nation across the world that had defeated the terrorists.

About 150 people, including 138 students, were brutally murdered in a terror attack on APS on December 16, 2014, the responsibility of which was claimed by Qari Ehsanullah Ehsan, currently under detention.

A public holiday has been declared in all educational institutions of the country on December 16.
