Strict security arrangements made around SC

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan’s (SC) Court Room 1 was full to its capacity on Thursday.

Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, the head of the five member bench, at the outset of proceedings, requested the audience to hear the order with patience observing the decorum of the court.

He also appreciated the support and assistance of the counsel during the hearing of the case.

The order comprised 540 pages and Justice Asif Saeed read the main points.

The court room was full of lawyers, journalists, counsel for the petitioners, defendants and political parties leaders, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan, Arif Alvi, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Sirajul Haq, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, IT Minister Anusha Rehman Khan, Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Asif and MNA Maiza Hameed.

On the occasion, strict security measures were adopted by the law enforcement agencies both inside and outside the SC. More than 15,000 personnel of police, Rangers and Frontier Constabulary (FC) had been deployed inside the Red Zone. Strict monitoring was conducted at all entry points.

The Registrar’s Office of the apex court had issued special passes to 15 members of each political party. However, party workers were not allowed entry.
