LAHORE: Addressing the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi suggested that the OIC could put economic pressure on Israel to reduce its influence in Jerusalem.
PM Abbasi said that if the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) fails to resolve the issue, the OIC could take the case to United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The OIC summit in Istanbul was attended by leaders of the Muslim world.
Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif said that United States’ role as a peace broker was being undermined by its recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that Israel is a state defined by “occupation” and “terror”.
PM Abbasi also met Palestinian President Mahmood Abbas, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and King Abdullah II of Jordan on the sidelines of the summit.
