Mobile dealer arrested for selling illegal phones

KARACHI: A team of Cyber Crime Circle of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Sindh has raided a mobile dealer’s shop in Bahadurabad area and registered a case against him after his arrest for selling and supplying illegal Mobile Phones sets on Tuesday According to the details FIA, Cyber Crime Circle (NR3C) Karachi registered the FIR No. 11/2017 u/s 156 (1) (8) (9) r/w Sec 32 of Customs Act and Sec 109/34 PPC, and effected the arreste of accused person Mr. Saad Masud in continuation with the Enquiry no 55/2015. FIA team conducted raid on the basis of written complaint of P.T.A., Karachi, regarding illegal Non-type approved mobile handsets and Tablets. On spy information was received to the effect that a person Saad Masood is indulged in purchase/import and sale of illegal/non-type approved mobile handsets & tablets in the name & style of Mobile Mania at Bahadurabad, District East, Karachi. Accordingly, the FIA team along with PTA staff reached at above mentioned shop.the owner (Saad Masud) of shop admitted that the Mobile Phone handsets and tablets lying in his shop are non-type approved from PTA.He (owner) failed to show any legal document for doing the same. The Mobile Phone handsets and tablets were found in the above mentioned shop, which were seized on spot. The Brand names and IMEI numbers of phones and tablets forwarded to Director PTA, Karachi for analysis the Brand and IMEI Numbers of seized Mobile Phone handsets/tablets (Total Nos. 216) and issuance of their technical report on the point as to whether the above mentioned mobile phone handsets/tables are illegal/non-typed approved or otherwise. According to the technical report of PTA only 4 hand sets are type approved rest of 212 mobile phones hand sets are illegal and non type approved.
