Crackdown ordered against quacks

Author: Staff Report

LAHORE: Lahore Division Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal on Tuesday directed all assistant commissioners (ACs) to continue the crackdown against quackery and quacks.

He said that complete elimination of quackery would pave the way for a better healthcare system. “Quackery is a curse, which has expanded its tentacles. The administration will leave no stone unturned to root it out,” he said.

He said that 277 clinics run by quacks had been sealed since January 1, 2017.

A total of 15 FIRs were registered against quacks as well, he added. He said that directions had been issued to all ACs to take action against quacks in consultation with Health Department officials. “The government is doing a lot to improve the healthcare system,” he said.
