We will send Nawaz packing soon: Zardari

JHANG: In an aggressive show against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari claimed on Friday that his party would soon send the PM packing “just as it threw out former military dictator General (r) Pervez Musharraf”.

“Today the Sindh government has passed a resolution supporting the notion of ‘Go Nawaz Go’ and we will force the incumbent rulers to leave,” Zardari said while addressing a rally in Shah Jeewna, Jhang. “This time, we will conquer this area [Jhang] and eliminate the Sharifs.”

In a jibe at the prime minister, the PPP leader said the time had come for the former to go home. He said the PPP would keep following PM Nawaz until “we take you out of the PM’s House”.

“This is my first rally against you and this is just the start… you will see what happens in days to come… I will hold rallies all over the country against you,” he said.

On the occasion, the PPP co-chairman welcomed former federal minister Faisal Saleh Hayat into the PPP. “I welcome Faisal Saleh Hayat for rejoining his own family and hope that he will support us in re-conquering Punjab,” he said.
