Both had been tightlipped about their romance and even as the media speculated and there were pictures and reports of them hanging out together and enjoying alone time, neither of them confirmed their relationship. Anushka Sharma had been spotted at almost each and every cricket match in which Virat Kohli was playing, cheering him on and lending full support, whereas the cricketer in turn had been spotted at all those exquisite locales where the flaming beauty was known to be shooting for her commercials or films. It became an open secret that the two were dating and in love but when news of them parting ways came about a year or so back, media was again in frenzy about how they might be coping.
However, after a brief hiatus, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli seemed to have put their differences behind and were spotted again spending alone time together. A couple of weeks back, rumours circulated that the two love birds were to tie the know in Italy and Sharma’s family had already flown to the European country, and so just this morning more news came about that the two have finally tied the knot. Both confirmed the news on their Twitter profile. Kohli Tweeted the announcement on Monday.
“Today we have promised each other to be bound in love for ever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey,” he Tweeted.
The couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on December 21, followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on December 26, according to news agency ANI. The newlyweds are set to travel to South Africa where Virat will start preparing for the upcoming series, said a statement from the couple.
