Worldy Book Day j

Author: Daily Times

Sir: World Book Day is celebrated each year on April 23 to raise awareness about the importance of books. Libraries are the only source where millions of books are kept and can play vital role to bring closer various communities. Unfortunately, in Pakistan there is no value of books and no one gives importance to libraries.

Only some cities are having good libraries, but half of the libraries lack good books. As being the citizen of Turbat, the second largest city of Balochistan, there are two libraries but these libraries are consisted of on just one room. Whenever I visit these libraries I can see students sitting outside and reading as there is no place to sit and study. Around 4000 to 5000 books are present. A library must contain millions of different books, but with only one room how these books can be placed.

We also celebrate World Book Day each year, so this year book festivals should be held across the country including Turbat. I request the government to provide books to the libraries of Turbat and allow students to benefits from these books.
