TV star Minal Khan, clad in a stunning gold bridal, met with thunderous applause on stage

LAHORE: The second day of the Pantene Hum Bridal Couture Week was held at a local hotel on Saturday. The who’s who of the media, fashion, film, TV and fashion industry rubbed shoulders to pay tribute and to support the prestigious platform, encouraging growth for the couture industry of Pakistan. A total of nine couturiers showcased their truly distinct collections on the ramp.

AMINA YASMIN BY MANSOOR AKRAM

— the couture brand which has made its presence felt over the years, showcased its strength with men’s apparel by coming up with different sherwani styles, like Short coats, knee length sherwani jackets paired with straight pants and kurtas. The velvet coats particularly stood out and so did the embellished sherwanis. The designer experimented with tissue shirts for men and tissue gowns for women. Singing sensation Asim Azhar showstopped and performed for the designer flanked by Uzma Hassan. The collection was rich in a black, red and off white colour palette mainly. It was a heavily crafted bridal/formal collection.

ANEESA KIANI

— next up was Aneesa Kiani with her beige and gold bridals. Her collection stood out for its fresh colour palette and elaborate detailing. However, one green bridal outfit was like a breath of fresh air with its intricate embroidery and unique colour. Kiani’s Raa-e-Ishq – 3 Stages of Love, in a special segment Strong is Beautiful, was inspired by The Kiani Crown which was the traditional coronation crown embellished with Iranian crown jewels.

EDEN ROBE

— renowned menswear brand Eden Robe showcased sherwanis, kurtas and waistcoats as well as suits for children as well. The collection’s raw silk orange kurtas looked winter ready, paired with matching embroidered waistcoats as well as the layering for suits was particularly done right. Film star Ahsan Khan showstopped for the designer wearing a yellow sherwani. Retail brand Eden Robe presented their collection True Inspiration on the runway.

AISHA FARID

— next up was Aisha Farid who displayed traditional bridal outfits and stuck to her comfort zone with no experimentation. Her collection was rich in voluminous flares. Rising film and TV stars Iqra Aziz, Yumna Zaidi, Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui, Sami Khan and Affan Waheed show-stopped for Aisha Farid, whose collection was called Crystalline.

ERUM KHAN

— coveted prêt and couture label Erum Khan Couture displayed a stunning bridal collection by the name of Sahiba. We particularly noticed the yellow tulip shalwar outfit with some amazing fittings dominant throughout the collection. There were some brilliant separates, lehngas and knee-length kurtas. TV star Minal Khan showstopped for the designer, clad in a heavy set bridal. Erum Khan’s Sahiba represented the aura of a woman who is an amalgam of delicacy and flattering strength.

CHINYERE

— next up was Chinyere with a wedding collection rich in vibrant shades of yellow, beige, orange, blue and green with lots of prominent detailing and voluminous lehngas paired with net duppatas. The stunning Aiman Khan added allure to Chinyere’s collection, which was titled Thumri.

DEMESNE

— next up was Demesne Couture that displayed their unique bridal collection titled Escape de Vivre, which stood out for its bold and subtle colour contrasts and amounted to a very wearable, easy to carry and practical bridal wear. Nimra Khan graced the runway for Demesne.

ROYAL TAG

— Menswear brand Royal Tag was next with their collection titled Modern Man. Mufflers, scarves, coats, pants, bold colours, striking contrasts and a standout appeal were the key highlights of Royal Tag’s collection. Couture king Hassan Sheheryar Yasin showstopped for Royal Tag

LAJWANTI

— Day 2 of the three-day bridal extravaganza concluded with Lajwanti’s Sultana, a collection inspired by the grandeur of the Ottoman Empire. Lots of modern cuts like, off shoulder blouses, short cholis and elaborate detailing were used in a wide array of colour palette like tomato red, tea pink and sky blue. The gorgeous and uber talented Mawra Hocane concluded the day for Lajwanti.
