KHAIRPUR: Over 3000 applications for the correction of electricity bills are pending before the Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) Khairpur and Ranipur.

According to sources, above 3000 applications for the correction of incorrect bills are still pending before revenue officials in Khairpur for many years, but the authorities are neither entertaining the applications nor correcting any of the bills.

The Revenue officer SEPCO confirmed that applications are pending at Sukkur office while their office record room is also filled with these applications.

Meanwhile a consumer, Ghaffar Mahar, told this scribe that he has been visiting the revenue office SEPCO since July-2016 every month and is told that the next bill will be received with correction. However, they always fail to resolve the issues. A clerk from the revenue office, Ali Gohar, is demanding bribesfor the correction of his bill and since he has refused, his bill has not been corrected by SPECO authorities.
