LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has lambasted Indian Prime Minister Narindra Modi saying: “Modi wants to make India a place only for Hindus.”
He was addressing a public gathering in Sheikhupura on Sunday.
Taking a jab at the Indian prime minister, Imran said that all the minorities in India were depriving even of their basic rights.
“Muslims are being killed in India, just for selling cow meat; which is not an illegal thing,” said Imran.
He also asked Pakistanis to make sure the safety for all minorities, including Hindus, living in Pakistan.
Every citizen should be given equal opportunity to take part in the struggle for “change” in the country, Imran added.
Referring towards Pakistan’s defeat by Afghanistan in the final of Under-19 Asia Cup, he said there was a time when Pakistan’s cricket team was considered as the strongest team in the world.
Imran criticized Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi saying: “A person, who is responsible for rigging in the elections 2013, has been appointed as the chairman of PCB.”
He further said that he [after being in power] would make Pakistan a “superpower of cricket” again.
In his address, Imran, once again, accused Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif of “looting the nations’ money” by making the state institutions fragile.
Referring towards the recent wave of agitation against the government’s move of altering the wording of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat declaration, Imran said the government did all this to please their American lords.
PTI has been conducting rallies across the country as the part of party’s pre-election campaign and today’s rally was also considered as the continuation of that campaign.
