DADU: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) and doctors of three districts of Sindh have urged Sindh government to come forward and resolve their Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) FIR issue; which was registered against 27 doctors and paramedics of Mehar Taluka Hospital earlier this week. Earlier this week, after a raid by Dadu District and Sessions Judge Ashok Kumar and Civil Judge Muhammad Azeem Solangi, some paramedics and doctors were found absent from their duties, after which six doctors along with other staff were arrested and kept at Mehar Police Station. Pakistan Medical Association and paramedical staff leaders held a joint press conference against the registration of FIR under ATC sections. PMA Sindh Vice President Dr Bashir Irri, PMA Sindh Deputy General Secretary Taj Muhammad, Moro District Organisation SMO Muhammad Yousuf Naval, PMA Dadu President Muhammad Achar, PMA former president Dr Salah Din Lakhair, Dr Tahira, Dr Uzama Soomaro, Amjid Mastoi and other doctors were present at the press conference. Dr Bashir Irri and others said that the doctors were not terrorists, but were booked under ATC sections. If the FIR against doctors and orders of court are not withdrawn, we will resign from our jobs, they warned. Dr Wazeer Ahmed Lund said that due to the registration of FIR, families of the staff were stressed. PMA former president Dr Sallah Din Lakhair and Dr Tahira said that they had not seen such injustice towards doctors of the country before. They prayed Sindh High Court and take suo motu action and demanded civil administration to release arrested doctors and paramedics.
