Man found strangled in graveyard

RAWALPINDI: A man was found murdered in a graveyard in Habib Colony on Saturday. According to Naseerabad Police, Nadir Khan, a resident of Mardan district, informed them that the body of his son Javed had been found lying in the graveyard.

“Nazia Bibi, wife of Javed, told me that accused Jahanzeb, his brother Hussain, along with their accomplices had come to their house. They had called out Javed and taken him with them. Earlier on April; 18, the accused had forced their way into Javed’s home and tried to molest his wife in his absence,” Nadir told police. He said that he suspected that Jahanzeb and his accomplices had strangled his son and then thrown his body in the graveyard. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Two killed in road accident: Two youngsters were killed after being run over by a truck near Sang Jani Toll Plaza on Saturday. Police said that Abbas Khan, 18 and Farhad, 16, who were residents of Fouji Colony, were on their way home on their motorcycle. “Their motorcycle slipped and a truck ran over them over. Both died on the spot,” police said. The bodies were taken to a hospital for post-mortem examination. The driver of the truck fled the scene. Police have registered a case.

Youngster killed, another injured in hit-and-run: A youngster was killed, while another man was injured in a hit-and-run incident within the Shahzad Town Police precincts on Saturday. Raja Junaid, Ahmed, a resident of Shahzad Town, lodged a complaint with the police, stating that he was travelling along with his friend Waqar Yusuf on motorcycle, when a car (STN-678) hit them from behind on Park Road. He was badly injured in the accident while Yusuf was killed. Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Body found: A body was found from Waris Khan Police precincts on Saturday. A passerby saw the body lying near Committee Chowk area of Waris Khan and informed police. Police reached the spot and took the body to a local hospital for post-mortem examination. Police said the body seemed to be three-days old. The deceased was later identified as Shakeel, 42. Police have started an investigation.

Woman robbed: A woman was robbed in I-9 Police precincts on Saturday. According to police, Marina Bukhtiar told them that she had rented out one of her residential flats to Noman. “He along with another accomplice barged into my flat and took away jewellery and Rs 1 million on gunpoint,” she told police. Police have registered a case.
