PESHAWAR: Chairman Qaumi Watan Party Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao has said that the vital national issues have ignored on the pretext of Panama issue which badly suffered the Pukhtoons.

He said that the apex court judgment was vital one and it should be implemented in its true spirit,

He was addressing a public meeting at Village Mathra, Peshawar.  Sherpao deplored that the corruption had penetrated into the body politics like cancer and it was unacceptable at any level.   ‘QWP’s Core Committee has been in favour of Judicial Commission instead of JIT which could effectively probe Panama issue, he endorsed.

Aftab Sherpao vehemently pleaded the cause of democracy saying that the continuation of sustainable democracy would usher in a new era of progression and development. He declared QWP would not allow any move which would cause fissures in democratic process. He said that the elections should be held within time so as durability of the institutions could be ensured.

Regarding the Mashal Khan issue, QWP Chairman said that no such incident had taken place in the Pukhtuns society and this incident was damaging for the indigenous traditions and decency. He said that the administration, culprits and the hidden elements were involved in the incident and they were protecting each other. He regretted that this triangle had become a vicious circle which needed to be exposed. He expressed dissatisfaction over the investigation process which was not in the right direction and it was moving at snail’s pace which gave rise to misgivings.

He warned that any move to undermine the investigation and protect the culprits and the abettors and facilitators would be strongly resisted. He said that the real culprits and the facilitators were no more hidden and the people had identified the persons and motives behind the incident. If any cover up was made it would be exposed with the popular will, he added.

He said that the ending of blockage of National Identify cards was a right step but is should be implemented as soon as possible. He said that the blockade of CNIC had led to many problems for Pakhtuns. He regretted that the blockade had not only affected the socio-economic activity but it would also deprive them of right franchise in the election.

He demanded that the verification process should be carried out in transparent and judicious manner so as to redress the grievances of Pakhtuns. On this occasion Senior Minister and Provincial Chairman QWP Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, Provincial General Secretary Hasham Babar and others party leaders also addressed the meeting.
