Attacks on journalists

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Pakistan is considered one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists. There have been a very large number of attacks on journalists in Pakistan over the years but only a small number of these cases have been legally pursued. In October, Ahmed Noorani was assaulted by knife wielding miscreants in broad light in Islamabad. The assailants were on motorbikes without number plates. The murderers of journalists must be arrested and there must be very strong action against those seeking to silence the media through violence. Journalists are the people who bring the truths in front of us.
