MIRPUR KHAS: Before starting 6th National census in Mirpur Khas district, civil society organizations have started awareness campaign for the citizens, during which they take their activist and throng into the streets with drum players and banners, asking people to ensure their names to be counted in upcoming census.
They are also distributing pamphlets and are using cable channels for adverts and also social media, so that people may take part in the census.
The census to be commenced from April 25 in the district of Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Tharparkar. In this connection, 139 circle supervisors, 31 superintendents and 855 field staff is being deployed for 1206 blocks of Mirpurkhas, 97 circle supervisors, 20 superintendents and 501 field staff for 676 blocks of Umerkot, 70 circle supervisors, 34 superintendents and 653 field staff in 981 blocks of Tharparkar are being deployed, The commissioner informed that all the arrangements for security of census teams had been completed.
He informed that Quick response force, police mobiles and motorbike troops would respond in case of any urgency. Under the plan rangers would also assistant police for census from April 25 to May 24.
He urged the representatives of various civil society and people from different circles and renowned scholars and intellectuals to come forward to play their role and extent awareness among the people at gross root level to fully participate in national campaign of census for the betterment of people and in the interest of country’s for future planning.
