KARACHI: The Pak Sarzameen Party on Sunday announced to start a “million march” against rulers on May 14.

PSP Chairman Mustafa Kamal on Sunday said that the first phase has completed successfully.

“We have woken up people and they have realized that their issues can be resolved,” he said. Kamal said that they have entered in the second phase and will continue it till their demands are met. “We are the children of founders of Pakistan and we will keep on saying ‘Long Live Pakistan’. Our 16-point demands are still valid and cannot be compromised,” he added.

He said that the determination of workers during the 18-day sit-in has exhibited that PSP was a peaceful party. He vowed to continue the struggle for the rights of the poor.

“The movement of PSP has forced all political parties to come out for the rights of people,” he contended.

Citizens of Karachi had been giving mandate and sacrificed their lives for a party for last three decades but so-called leaders did not even protest for the rights of people. “They protested for the identity card and passport of a person sitting in London,” he noted.

Kamal urged his supporters to arrange transport for the marchers as the “poor party” cannot afford it.

PSP Vice Chairman Iftikhar Randhawa said that they will continue their protest till their last breath for their demands. The 18-day sit-in concluded with a rally towards Shahra-e-Faisal, Pakistan House.

Separately, the PPP also took out rallies in Karachi, Thatta, Jacobabad, Kandhkot, Nawab Shah and Naushehro Feroze against the low pressure of gas and prolonged load shedding. Meanwhile, MQM-Pakistan chief Farooq Sattar led a rally from Liaquatabad to Mazar-e-Quaid. The PML-N also took to the streets to support Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
