LAHORE: The Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) organised a seminar on ’16-Days Activism Campaign to End Violence against Women at Government Islamia College Civil Lines here on Thursday.
Addressing the seminar, PCSW chairperson Fauzia Viqar said that the stability and growth of any society was directly linked to the status of women.
Therefore, to raise voice against any act of violence against women and girls must be taken as a great social cause, she said, adding that rights-based education must be promoted in all schools and colleges, to ensure a more empowered, gender sensitised and inclusive society.
The PCSW chairperson urged students to contribute actively in building a strong, value-based society that empowered women across the board.
